The Green Affair is one of those vegan spots that even non-vegans can get excited about. Creative dishes that riff on Portuguese classics like a bacalhau à lagareiro–inspired tofu, a seitan “steak,” and even a mushroom take on beef Wellington. Surprising, satisfying, and far from the bland rabbit food stereotype. Prices are fair, portions are solid, and the vibe is casual. The staff is a mix of people from all over the world, sometimes you’ll get more English than Portuguese, and the same goes for the clientele, which is heavy on expats.
